As you've probably heard, recently the Office of Homeland Security increased the Alert Level in New York City due to information and pictures it had gathered that indicated al Qaeda was scoping out various financial buildings to attack. Shortly after the alert, though, we learned that much of the information had been gathered prior to September 11, 2001. This has caused critics of the Bush Administration to cry foul and say the alert level was raised because of election year politics and nothing more. The Bush Administration countered that al Qaeda is known to take many years to gather information and implement its plans and therefore an attack could be imminent. Who's right? The only way to know would be to see the information for yourself. Well, it just so happens that the Treetop Lounge has been given exclusive access to some of the pictures al Qaeda gathered in and around New York City. Click below and decide if the Bush Administration is keeping us safe from terrorism, or if these pictures are so old and out of date that it's all just political grandstanding designed to keep us scared.
